Obama claims "executive authority" over guns
No need to worry about confiscation, says Obama - after all, he assures us, "responsible" gun owners have nothing to worry about. Well, I feel better - but he's still laying the groundwork for future, more radical action:
Obama added that he was willing to take steps to "reduce gun violence" through executive action. "I'm confident that there are some steps we can take that don't require legislation and that are within my authority as president," he asserted.Remember when Al Sharpton urged Obama to "to work like a Third-World dictator" to accomplish his goals? This claim of authority over gun rights sounds like something a "presidente for life" from some banana republic would say.
