The Dawning of Domestic Drones

Why secession?

I was asked that question on an NPR show a few years back. I responded that big governments ALWAYS become tyrannical and self-destructive. The host, Mike Collins, couldn't believe his ears when I said that elections were pointless in this country because DC's policies remain unchanged.

We've argued before that DC's quest for empire is behind almost every problem we face today, from deficit spending, to open borders, to the loss of our liberty.

This story should convince even the most true-blue of true believers that our DC overlords are building a totalitarian infrastructure as fast as they can:

The drones are coming to a neighborhood near you.

The unmanned aircraft that most people associate with hunting terrorists and striking targets in Pakistan are on the brink of evolving into a big domestic industry. It is not a question of whether drones will appear in the skies above the United States but how soon.

Congress has ordered the Federal Aviation Administration to quickly select six domestic sites to test the safety of drones, which can vary in size from remote-controlled planes as big as jetliners to camera-toting hoverers called Nano Hummingbirds that weigh 19 grams.
Odd that this is being done while DC proposes disarming Americans, isn't it? Just a coincidence, I suppose.

On this issue alone, should Americans revolt. But, I fear it will be too late when we become disarmed...DC doesn't even give a fake excuse for the drones, like crime-stopping. They are just doing it in front of an ignorant populace.

Deployment overseas and learning more about Islam has indeed taught me that its followers present a very real potential for danger to those nations' governments foolish enough to dive into the utopian it's-a-small-world-afterall paradigm (Of course, I/we shouldn't have been over there in the first place, effectively poking and provoking the beast either!).

That said, our imperial, mercantilist government in myriad ways, from its top-down open borders policy, and as you term it, OR, "invade the world, invite the world" pursuits, to this looming destruction of our last vestiges of constitutional liberties, the drone, all ostensibly for our safety, indeed presents the greatest threat.

Johnny, read this article from Gary North; I think you'll find some encouragement:

Of course that doesn't mean there aren't some significant, hard times ahead, but I don't believe our "masters" will have all go their way!

They better disarm us first: I am having a vision of wearing a face mask and popping away with my Ruger 10/22 or 12 gauge. Turkey loads should do well...

You all DO remember what happened to that drone the animal rights types sent over to spy on a pigeon shoot, doncha? Those boys shot the hell out of it, go figure, hahaha! Sending a drone over PO'ed pigeon shooters puts me to mind of what my first boss used to say to me with some frequency - "That was DUMB!"

It's not a perfect fit - but reading about these drones, especially the small drones, reminds me of the locusts in Revelation 9.

Hey Dutchy,
This could be bigger than the opening day of dove season.

I predict that it is the states more aligned with the New South that will welcome this new technology in their skies. Fact is - xenophobia trumps the Constitution with the far-right, and these new toys will be viewed as the next best thing to do battle with all of the ills that the paranoid right-wing fringe fears.

Wouldn't it be some thing if the only real purpose of elections was to protect the 2nd Amendment. I'm not being cynical here. I just sadly don't think people in this 'country' will do any thing when the government comes for the guns.
